Plastics company Aeroplas plans to build a 8,732 sq m (94,000 sq ft) factory near the Black Country New Road, West Midlands.
The Smethwick-based firm paid Black Country Development Corporation about £1.3m per ha (£120,000 per acre) for the 2.6ha (6.5 acre) site at Great Bridge Phase I, near the Black Country New Road. The company will build its new facility itself and is expected to move in next November.
The corporation’s investment manager David Matthews said: “We are pleased to retain Aeroplas’ business in the area. [Their decision] reinforces the Black Country as a place for people to invest and create jobs.”
The location has already been boosted by the recently opened Black Country New Road which links junction 2 of the M5 with junction 10 of the M6.
Chesterton sold the site for the development corporation, while Reade Associates advised Aeroplas.
