Farmland prices edged down from record levels in the third quarter of the year. But according to a report by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, they were still 30% higher than a year ago.
The survey found that strongest demand came from large farmers and agribusinesses. Average prices for farmland were £7,324 per ha, 2% below the peak reached in the second quarter.
