Elon Musk has told the prime minister that artificial intelligence will eventually do away with all jobs, and offices.
The X and Tesla owner was speaking to Rishi Sunak in front of an audience of AI experts following the government’s AI summit. He warned that AI was “the most disruptive force in history” and that eventually “there will come a point where no job is needed”.
He added: “You can have a job if you want to have a job for personal satisfaction but the AI can do everything.
“We will be in an age of abundance. We won’t be on universal basic income, we will be on universal high income.”
Sunak agreed that AI “will bring a lot of change in the labour market”.
