Aimrok Holdings has bought the former Fenwick store in Leicester for a mixed-use conversion that will include 90 flats alongside retail and leisure units.
It will submit planning for four retail units, a champagne bar, restaurant and gym across the basement and ground floor on the Market Street site.
Funding for the deal was provided by Cambridge & Counties Bank.
Leicester-based RG+P will design the scheme, and intends to retain the building’s current façade.
Space Retail Property Consultants and Nelson’s Solicitors advised Aimrock.
Vijay Patel of Aimrok said: “By creating a mixed-use scheme, the building has a future that is sustainable for many years to come.
“The scheme will include high-end apartments for the private rental sector, as well as a champagne bar, and retail units. We are working on scheme drawings now, ready for planning late summer.”
