Ainscough buys 180 acres in Durham



Lancashire-based entrepreneur Martin Ainscough’s Ainscough Strategic Land has bought a 180-acre site in Durham.



Hagg House Farm, a strategic greenbelt release site, is on the outskirts of Durham and has been identified by the council in its core strategy as having potential for a new sustainable urban extension.



It is the largest site acquired by ASL in its four-year history. and brings the company’s portfolio to 10 sites nationwide, a total of more than 600 acres.



Paul Martin, land director at ASL, said: “Our expertise lies in developing long term master plans for thriving, sustainable communities and this site would, if brought forward by Durham county council, give us the opportunity to do just that.”
