US tech giant Airbnb has agreed a deal for a new office in Clerkenwell, EC1, that sets a record rent for the area.
The online letting service has taken 6,265 sq ft at Compton Courtyard at £63 per sq ft.
It will occupy the penthouse suite.
Airnb will join Clerkenwell residents Skype, WPP, Agent Provocateur and Grey Group, which have driven up rents in the area by making it a creative and tech hotspot.
Richard Susskind & Company and Hatton Real Estate advised the private landlord; Colliers International acted for Airbnb.
