Aitch Group seeks BTR and PBSA sites for £100m pipeline

Aitch Group is on the hunt for more development sites across London and the South East as it aims to make £100m of land acquisitions by the end of 2022.

Aitch secured £100m at the start of the year to support its growth in the student accommodation, build-to-rent and retirement living sectors. It has so far deployed £31m across three new sites and committed to spending a further £35m by the end of August on three other land opportunities.

It is seeking sites without planning permission across London and the South East with land values of up to £30m and at price points between £500 and £950 per sq ft. For its student housing developments, Aitch targets schemes that can provide more than 250 beds.

To support its expansion, Aitch has appointed Christopher Chapman as senior land manager, Phoebe Juggins as senior planning manager, and Kenji Holdsworth as planning manager. Juggins joins from Thames Water, and Holdsworth was previously at DHA Architects.

Stephen Hollyoak group land director at Aitch Group said: “Despite very challenging economic conditions, the business is performing well at the half-year point. Having already committed £66m to land purchases, we are actively seeking new land opportunities without planning permission across London and the South East and encourage new introductions to help us achieve our goals. In these difficult times landowners and their representatives are looking for well-funded credible purchasers who do exactly what they say they will – we have an exceptional track record of performing in land transactions.”
