Kevin Aitchison, the former chief executive of the UK division of ING REIM, is leaving the company following its merger with CBRE Investors.
Aitchison has declined to take up “a key role” in the new business, CBRE Global Investors, and leaves at the end of November to explore new opportunities.
It had already been announced that Jean Lamothe would run the combined UK business following CBRE’s $1bn acquisition of the Dutch operation.
Former ING REIM UK chief investment officer Ian Whittock has also resigned, as have three members of the ING UK multi-manager team.
CBRE Global Investors EMEA chief executive Pieter Hendrikse said: “We were very keen for Kevin to remain with the company and, sorry as I am to see him leave, I know he leaves in place an organisation well placed and well poised for the next stage of its development.”
The newly created firm – the largest investment management business in the world, with $95bn of assets under management – also announced a raft of appointments to its EMEA business team this week.
Dennis van Vugt is chief financial officer/chief operations officer for EMEA. He succeeds Maurice Voskuilen, who becomes global chief financial officer/chief administrative officer for CBRE Global Investors.
Giles King becomes head of investor services in EMEA, James Clifton-Brown continues as UK chief investment officer, and Michael Ness becomes managing director of the UK managed accounts group.
