Alantra beefs up real estate arm

Alantra has hired a new five-member real estate team to strengthen its hand in the sector.

The real estate and hospitality team, which will be based in the mid-market asset manager’s Paris office, has been brought in from the capital markets department of the Babylone Group.

It will also bring three new partners — Yonel Marelli, Richard Desgroppes and Jérémie Sénior — into the business. Together they have transacted 150 deals valued at €4.6bn (£3.9bn).

Alantra chief executive Miguel Hernandez said: “The appointments reflect our continued commitment to maximise the value we provide to our global clients by investing in the highest-calibre professionals with deep sector expertise across our key geographies.”
