Albany Theatre has signed a new 25-year lease for a 23,000 sq ft facility at Earlsdon Park, Coventry.
Earlsdon Park has been home to the theatre since 2012, where it previously occupied a 20,000 sq ft space. The expansion follows the theatre’s plans to enlarge the back-of-house areas to offer larger productions, while also providing facilities for local schools and drama groups.
Earlsdon Park was acquired by Clearbell Property Partners II, a fund managed by Clearbell Capital, in 2015. Since then the park has undergone improvements, including new landscaping and the installation of energy-efficient lighting. External seating has also been introduced to cater to Albany Theatre visitors and tenants of the buildings.
Dominic Moore, ESG director and head of asset management at Clearbell Capital, said: “We are delighted to be able to support the Albany Theatre further in its plans for expansion. Earlsdon Park has been the home of the theatre for some time and continues to contribute to Coventry’s UK City of Culture status.”
