Alchemy, the venture capitalist, will this week make a last-ditch attempt to secure a management buy-out of Vaux, the pubs and brewery division of Swallow, with a revised £50m bid.
An earlier deal, led by Frank Nicholson, managing director of the brewing and pubs division, collapsed last week when the board rejected it at the eleventh hour.
