Allders has bought eight stores from the Owen Owen chain for £23.6m. The move follows Allders’ sale last month of its duty-free business to Swiss Air for £160m. This left the company with cash resources of more than £100m.
Allders plans a £15m refurbishment of the stores at Leeds, Coventry, Oxford, Ipswich, Basingstoke, Ilford, Redditch and Slough.
