Alliance Boots will rent out space to the local health authority in Poole, Dorset, to open a healthcare centre in one of its shops next month.
It will be the first venture of its kind. Boots has about 150 stores that are too big for its current product range.
Sainsbury’s is also planning to rent out space to an NHS doctor in one of its stores this year.
