Allied London to build 200-bed Manchester hotel

Property investment company Allied London has revealed plans to build a new events-focused hotel in Manchester city centre.

The Manchester Grande will be located in the former Granada headquarters building. Construction is expected to begin in 2015.

A planning application for the 200-bed hotel will be submitted at the end of the year. The property will have four restaurants and a number of bars.

Allied London chief executive Mike Ingall said: “The hotel is being modelled on the likes of the hotels in New York, Miami and the Far East, where the focus is on food and beverage as well as nightly events including  major performances, music, film, theatre and arts and club events.”
