Allied London is set for the green light for its 343,000 sq ft tower on the site of Quay House in Spinningfields in Manchester.
The 20-storey office block, known as Number One Spinningfields, is designed by Ian Simpson Architects, and includes retail and leisure space and a restaurant on the 18th storey.
The plans, reccommended for approval by Manchester city council’s planning and highways committee on 8 May, have been prepared by Deloitte on behalf of Allied’s Hardman Square Investments vehicle.
English Heritage lodged an objection to the plans due to their impact on Cobden House , Sunlight House , Royal London House , the Opera House , St John’s Street, Deansgate, and Castlefield, but supports redevelopment of the site in principle.
