Allsop raises £58m at largest December sale since 2015

Allsop has wrapped up its 2023 auctions programme with £880m in sales following a bumper December residential auction.

The firm raised more than £58m at its residential auction, its largest December sale in eight years with a success rate of 84%.

The December auction included more than 390 lots over two days via livestream. Eleven lots sold for more than £1m. Over the year, Allsop has raised in excess of £445m in the residential sector, up by a fifth year-on-year.

Lots included Evelyn Gardens in South Kensington, a leasehold self-contained third and fourth-floor two-bedroom flat, which sold for £1.55m, and Colney Heath in St Albans, a freehold site with development potential, which sold for £1.75m.

Its December commercial property auction, meanwhile, raised £51.2m from 52 lots.

Richard Adamson, partner and residential auctioneer at Allsop, said: “The scale of our final sale of the year makes it our largest December auction since 2015, which is extraordinary when considering the economic and political turbulence experienced throughout the past 12 months.
