Allsop’s latest residential sale raised £53.7m with a success rate of 72%.
Of 231 lots offered, 166 sold – 139 in the room and 27 prior.
The firm raised nearly £73.8m with a success rate of 86% at its last auction in May, but the result is very similar to the figure for last year’s July auction at £55.5m.
Partner and auctioneer Richard Adamson said: “It was a really positive auction, taking over £50m out of the market speaks volumes.
“We are going through unique times, with a number of peaks and troughs. It is unpredictable, but there is a strong market. There is a real appetite for regional investments,” he said.
Chalmington Manor, a 17th century Dorset manor house, including stables, an aircraft hangar, and tennis court, guided at £1.2m-£1.5m, sold for £1.4m. A mansion house in Macclesfield, Cheshire, with triple garage, indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym and sauna, was purchased for £1.8m.
The auction was held at the Cumberland Hotel, W1, on 20 July.
