Canadian-listed property consultancy Altus Group has acquired specialist commercial property consultancy firm Aspect Property Consultants.
The acquisition will expand Altus’ UK footprint in the West London industrial market, will boost its agency, leasing and investment business in the South East.
It will also add prominent regional advisors and a specialist investment and development funding function.
Established in 2009, Aspect Property Consultants specialises in the industrial and warehouse markets of South East England, with a significant presence in the west London market.
The company has a diverse client portfolio that comprises notable developers, landlords, investors and occupiers, and includes Hermes, M&G Real Estate, SEGRO, Lasalle Investment Management and DTZ Investors.
The consultancy was founded by former Brixton leasing and development directors Alex Kington and John Pocock. The team was further strengthened in 2015 by Adam Coulston, the consultancy’s industrial and logistics investment specialist, formerly head of industrial and logistics at M&G Real Estate. The company’s range of services include leasing for both landlords and tenants; investment; development site acquisition, disposal and funding. The company has offices in London, Heathrow and Basingstoke.
Alex Probyn, president of UK business rates and property advisory services at Altus Group, said: “Aspect has an outstanding reputation and a proven track record for delivering both quality advice and regional expertise, in particular in the west London, Heathrow and Thames Valley industrial markets. These are critical markets for us, and so I am particularly pleased to welcome the combined experience and proven track records of the team. Their addition will further strengthen our existing agency presence in the region.”
Aspect’s co-founder Alex Kington said: “We’re very much looking forward to working closely with Altus Group’s UK team as we continue to deliver sector specialist advice to our clients whilst also being in a position to deliver an enviable range of complementary real estate advisory services.”
The acquisition of Aspect Property Consultants is the latest announcement from Altus Group, which has a commitment and ambition to grow its UK business and expand its offerings in strategically important markets.
Most recently in late 2017, Altus Group announced the acquisition of CVS (Commercial Valuers & Surveyors) Limited, a privately-owned property tax service provider that specialises in business rates advisory services, which doubled the company’s business rates practice in the UK.
