Blackstone’s Logicor has leased 562,000 sq ft of warehouse space to Amazon on 10-year leases.
Amazon will take 257,855 sq ft at the GT257 warehouse in Bardon, Leicestershire, and the 304,751 sq ft Logic305 warehouse in Weybridge, Surrey.
Amazon will incorporate both logistics warehouses into their UK distribution network for orders placed through the company’s UK website.
Logicor UK managing director said: “We are delighted to support Amazon’s expansion of its UK distribution network. Both Bardon and Weybridge provide excellent strategic access to a high proportion of the UK population. These leases also strengthen our existing relationship with Amazon in the UK and Europe.”
The cross-docked GT257 warehouse is located on Interlink Business Park, Bardon, Leicestershire, close to J22 of the M1.
The Weybridge warehouse, Logic305, is located on the Brooklands industrial estate, near J10/11 of the M25.
The GT257 lease commences immediately, while the Weybridge lease will start in September 2015 once refurbishment works complete.
Amazon also occupies Logicor logistics facilities at Rugeley, Staffordshire in the UK and near Prague airport in the Czech Republic.
Burbage Realty and Moriarty & Co advised Logicor on Bardon GT257. DTRE and Moriarty & Co acted for Logicor on Logic305.
