Highcross has let 58,000 sq ft at its Waverleygate office building in Edinburgh city centre to Amazon.
The online retailer has taken the office space on a 10-year lease. The deal follows the 10,000 sq ft of office accommodation it took earlier this year.
During the past 12 months, Highcross has completed a major refurbishment of the 207,000 sq ft building’s atrium, reception and roof garden. Occupiers include NHS Lothian, H&M, Balfour Beatty, Microsoft, EY&CO and Creative Scotland.
Mark Evans, head of Highcross’ Scotland office, said: “This latest significant letting to Amazon means that more than 150,000 sq ft is now occupied at the building, compared with 12,000 sq ft at the beginning of 2010. This strong performance reflects the building’s city centre location, high-quality specification and our flexible, value for money lettings approach.”
Montagu Evans and CB Richard Ellis advise Highcross; Cushman & Wakefield represented Amazon.
