Amazon has launched a search for a second North American headquarters, to be the full equal of its offices in Seattle.
The project will see Amazon spend more than $5bn and create tens of thousands of additional jobs.
It is asking cities to submit proposals, and is looking for bids from places with a population of more than a million. Incentives to offset the initial capital outlay and ongoing operating costs will also be significant factors.
