Plans for a 1.3m sq ft industrial-led scheme linked with internet giant Amazon, have been submitted to Liverpool city council.

Gallan Stoford Liverpool – a jv between Gallan Group and Stoford – has proposed demolishing a school on land adjacent at Stonebridge Cross adjacent to the A580 East Lancashire Road, Croxteth, and replacing it with a mega distribution centre.

The scheme proposes two buildings for storage and distribution, with some office use, along with 1,244 parking spaces.

Online retailer Amazon has been strongly linked to the site, but has yet to confirm its intentions.

Graham Stock, a partner at the jv’s planning adviser Deloitte Real Estate, said in an application letter: “There is a potential identified multinational occupier for the premises.

He added that the development would lead to 1,469 jobs.
