Amazon has opened its first cashier-less supermarket as it expands into bricks and mortar.
The 10,000 sq ft Seattle store, named Amazon Go Grocery, will be the first Amazon outlet to stock fresh produce such as eggs and tomatoes and is about five times bigger than the 25 or so existing Amazon Go stores.
Amazon’s physical stores, including Whole Foods, accounted for $4.3bn in revenue in its fourth quarter.
