Amec shares hit by £65m exceptionals

Amec’s shares fell 10% after it revealed £65m of additional exceptional charges relating to its restructuring programme and exposure to two legal disputes in the US.

The engineering services company and developer also warned on first-half trading and said it had lost a large NHS contract. Its shares fell 33p to close at 312.5p yesterday, making it the biggest faller in the FTSE 250.
