Sex workers in Amsterdam will be moved from the city centre to an “erotic centre”.
A proposal by the city’s mayor Femke Halsema to shut down the famous red light district has been backed by a broad group of political parties.
Halsema said that the relocation was part of a reset of the city’s tourism offer. An alternative site is being sought, potentially in the Westelijk Havengebied district.
