Amstone Ventures has secured planning permission for a £115m residential development on the site of a former Sainsbury’s supermarket in the town centre of Stockport, Greater Manchester.
The move follows a planning submission in December 2021, proposing the demolition of the former supermarket and the construction of three residential blocks with heights ranging from five to 15 storeys, creating 563 flats and townhouses.
The proposals also include creation of large external amenity areas, basement car parking and the reopening of the Mersey river frontage.
The consultant team put together by Amstone for the project includes architect Leach Rhodes Walker, planning consultant Deloitte, project manager and cost consultant Cumming Group, landscape architect Layer.Studio, structural engineers ROC Consulting, M&E consultants Crookes Walker Consulting, heritage consultants Paul Butler Associates, highways engineers Mode Transport, fire engineers Tenos and acoustic consultants Hann Tucker Associates.
