Information technology adviser Andersen Consulting has shortlisted four buildings for its new 18,580 sq m (200,000 sq ft) central London headquarters.
Top of the list is understood to be 40 Grosvenor Place, SW1, where developer Grosvenor Estate has consent for 18,580 sq m (200,000 sq ft).
The company is also eyeing two other sites: Development Securities’ 1 Curzon Street, W1, which has room for 18,950 sq m (204,000 sq ft); and the Mirror Building site at Holborn Circus, EC4. Canary Wharf Tower, E14, is the only completed building under consideration.
Market sources say a quoting rent likely to be well in excess of £538.21 per sq m (£50 per sq ft) could rule out Curzon Street.
Andersens has grown out of its existing premises at Arundel Great Court which comprises five office blocks bounded by the Strand, Surrey Street and Arundel Street, WC2. David Steventon at DTZ Debenham Thorpe, who is advising the company, said Andersen Consulting will move out while Arthur Andersen, the accountancy group, will expand to fill the remaining space.
