Annington has appointed a leadership team following the resignation of chief executive James Hopkins after 22 years at the PRS landlord.
The former chief executive of Balfour Beatty Investments, Ian Rylatt (pictured), has joined as chief executive of Annington. He spent 23 years at Balfour Beatty, initially as development director leading the BTR business in the US and management of 35,000 homes for the US Department of Defense.
Annington’s chief financial officer Andrew Chadd will also step down after eight years at the company. He will be succeeded by Stephen Leung, who has been CFO at iQ Student Accommodation since 2015 with previous roles at Kennedy Wilson Europe, Land Securities and Trilium.
Hopkins will remain at Annington until the end of the year, to support the handover. During his 22 years, he has grown Annington into a £7bn company.
He said: “It has been a privilege to serve as the chief executive of Annington and to work with so many talented people, particularly helping many thousands of people take ownership of their first home. I am confident that in Ian and Stephen, I am leaving the company in extremely capable hands as they embark on the next chapter of Annington’s story.”
