A 2.1% on-year rise in house prices in the three months to July was the lowest since April 2013, figures from lender Halifax show.
On the month, prices were up 0.4%, the largest monthly rise this year and taking the average house price to £219,266. Prices fell 0.2% over the three months to July, the fourth quarter in a row that growth has slowed.
Low interest rates and a lack of properties coming onto the market are helping to support house prices.
