Hertsmere council has secured planning permission for a new film backlot at Elstree Studios for long-term TV series.
The studios – where Star Wars, Indiana Jones and 
were made – will see construction begin in summer 2015 after winning a unanimous vote from the council’s planning committee.

Montagu Evans associate Jon Bradburn said: “This scheme presented a number of challenges due to the requirements of the film industry and the proposed structures and operation, but we are pleased to be able to secure a scheme that will continue the heritage of Elstree Studios as being at the forefront of television production.”
