Ambrose, who was last night revealed as the winner of the BBC’s The Apprentice series, will train as a chartered surveyor while working for Sir Alan’s son Daniel Sugar at Amsprop.

Sir Alan said Ambrose would lead the drive to find an operator for a consented luxury hotel and golf complex close to Stansted Airport.

Last night’s final edition showed finalists Ambrose and Kristina Grimes drawing up plans for a major property development at an Amsprop-owned site on London’s Southbank.

Advised by architects Matt White and Ken Shuttleworth of Make, Ambrose created a £730m nautical themed hotel in three buildings called ‘The Wave’.
