Abrdn’s real estate team will become part of a real assets division following a shake-up of its investment management business.
The change has been prompted by the the retirement of Rod Paris, who has been chief investment officer since 2007.
The real estate team will join the infrastructure team in the new division.
The company, formerly known as Standard Life Aberdeen, told staff yesterday that it would also spin off its private equity business into a boutique franchise.
The funds group manages about £535bn of assets, £33bn of which are in real estate.
