Arcadia opens flagship store at Lakeside

Arcadia today opened a flagship store for Topshop and Topman at Capital Shopping Centres’ Lakeside shopping centre in Thurrock.

Arcadia’s two fashion brands have moved into a 25,000 sqft store. It showcases clothing, accessories and gifts, and includes Topshop stylists offering a fast-track to the fitting rooms, styling advice and Topman’s new Grooming Collection.

It follows the opening of a flagship for sister Arcadia brand Bhs in September. Miss Selfridge has also completed a store refit at the mall.

The Arcadia stores are part of an £8m asset management initiative at Lakeside which has seen the amalgamation of the former Topshop and Topman stores and the creation of a 35,000 sq ft three-level store for US fashion giant Forever 21.

Jonathan Ainsley, asset management director (south) for CSC, said: “The Arcadia expansion is the largest upsize yet, and allows us to showcase the latest shopfits and products for the three largest Arcadia brands – Topshop, Topman and Bhs – to our fashion conscious Lakeside shoppers.”

Chris Harris, group property director at Arcadia said: “This is now one of our 10 biggest stores in the UK and features exciting new design elements, taking inspiration from the flagship recently opened at Westfield in Stratford.”

Lunson Mitchenall and CWM advised CSC; Arcadia was not represented.
