Global consultancy Arcadis has prelet 40,000 sq ft at YardNine’s City development EightyFen, EC3.
It will occupy floors five and six at the 14-storey scheme located at 80 Fenchurch Street.
YardNine and Arcadis have spent the past six months working to deliver a new workplace that fits in with the consultancy’s global strategy of creating dynamic, inclusive, and sustainable environments for its people and clients.
Arcadis will join US serviced office provider Convene at the development, which has previously prelet 70,000 sq ft.
Across 30,000 sq ft of this space Convene will provide meeting and events space across the lower ground and first floors, as well as a 2,000 sq ft ground floor café and lounge and an exclusive Convene reception area.
Convene will also be operating the building’s commercial kitchen, providing meals for the entire building.
Once complete later this year, EightyFen will provide 240,000 sq ft of office space with six landscaped roof gardens covering 12,359 sq ft.
The building is targeting the BREEAM excellent and WiredScore platinum ratings.
Maxwell Shand, director of YardNine, said: “This latest prelet at EightyFen is a strong endorsement of our ambition to create an exciting workplace that attracts leading occupiers and creates value for the project’s investors. We are long-term believers in London and this particular area of the City has experienced an interesting journey, transforming from a traditional 9-to-5 district to a really exciting hub of activity where a vast range of occupiers, amenities and thriving community come together.
“A partnership-based approach is central to how we work with all occupiers, particularly in this current period of uncertainty, and we are excited to be working with Arcadis to create a unique workplace for them. As we near completion of construction we look forward to building on this success with further interesting occupiers at EightyFen.”
Mark Cowlard, chief executive of Arcadis UK and Ireland, added: “The way people work is evolving all the time, more so than ever over the last few months. As part of a global review we have been looking at how we incorporate this change and create a more dynamic, collaborative, and agile workplace experience for both our clients and people.
“Our new London office at EightyFen embodies this approach while bringing together the best features in smart technology, inclusive design and sustainability under one roof in an exciting and vibrant part of London. We look forward to creating an innovative experience that will fully display the unique values and culture of Arcadis.”
