Architect Michael Manser dies

Architect Michael Manser died on Wednesday aged 87.

Manser was president of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1984 when Prince Charles famously described a proposed extension to the National Gallery as a monstrous carbuncle.

Among his works are Capel Manor House in Kent, an extension to Thorncroft Manor in Surrey and the Hilton Hotel at Heathrow’s Terminal 4.
