A competition to design a new skyscraper and recording studio for rock group U2 at Britain Quay, Dublin, has been won by Burdon Dunne Architects/Craig Henry Architects.
Despite complaints about the running of the competition, the Dublin Docklands Development Authority (DDDA) has said construction will start next year.
The 246 ft (75m) tower, selected by the DDDA and U2 from over 500 applicants, will include restaurants and flats as well as the recording studio on the ground floor. It will form part of the 2bn (£1.4bn) redevelopment of Dublin’s docklands.
