handshake-THUMB.jpegPrivate investment company Ardian has appointed three managing directors for its European real estate team.

Stephanie Bensimon has joined as managing director France in Paris; Rodolfo  Petrosino joins as managing director southern Europe in Milan and Bernd Haggenmuller joins as managing director Germany in Frankfurt.

Ardian’s strategy is to target large-sized commercial property assets.

Bertrand Julien-Laferriere, head of Ardian Real Estate, said: “We have now senior directors in each of our three core European markets who will help us seize the opportunity to become a major player in real estate across Continental Europe.”

Bensimon was at Invesco Real Estate for five years where she was head of transactions in France, Belgium and southern Europe. Before that she was at Carval Investors, part of the Cargill Group, and GE Real Estate Group in Paris.

Petrosino was chief operating officer at Italian asset management company IDeA FIMIT SGT from 2011, and at Pirellli Real Estate, and Morgan Stanley Italian operations before that.

Haggenmuller was senior managing director Germant at Shaftesbury Asset Management In Frankfurt between 2007 and 2016. Before that he was managing director at Multi Corporation and Commerz Grundsbesitz Group (now Commerz Real), after starting his career at ECE Projektmanagement.

Earlier this year Ardian appointed former Allianz Real Estate chief executive Olivier Plani as senior adviser and chair of its investment committee.

Ardian was established as an arm of insurance giant AXA in 1996 and is now an independent private equity investor. It aims to invest €2bn (£1.4bn) in the European commercial real estate in the next five years.
