French investor Ardian Real Estate has appointed Olivier Piani as senior adviser and chair of its investment committee.
The private equity firm has appointed the former chief executive of Allianz Real Estate to help grow the real estate business established in September 2015.
Piani joins after eight years as chief executive at Europe’s largest real estate investor. During his time there he developed a global investment and asset management platform with more than 450 employees.
Before this, he was chief executive of GE Capital Real Estate Europe from 1998 and also spent time with the Paribas Group and UIC Sofal.
Piani will further the company’s investment activities in the core and core plus markets across the Eurozone.
Piani said: “This is an exciting challenge for me, and an opportunity to work with a great high quality team and company. We’ll build a team that is multi-local, with an entrepreneurial approach to the business. Asset management will be key to our strategy, and is how we will create value for our investors. They have shown strong interest in this asset class and there is huge potential for us to create a compelling investment opportunity.”
