Argent to develop Brindleyplace buildings

Argent Developments is speculatively developing the last two buildings at its flagship £350m Brindleyplace scheme in Birmingham’s city centre. The developer will start construction early next year.

Number seven will be a 7,897 sq m (85,000 sq ft) building with have an end value of £30m, while number 10 will comprise 6,039 sq m (65,000 sq ft) and have a £22m end value.

Gary Taylor, director at Brindleyplace, said: “The market’s so tight in Birmingham we’ve decided to keep the ball rolling and build these out.” Taylor confirmed the buildings would be aimed at different sectors of the market. “We’re looking for professional occupiers for number seven, and number 10 could possibly be a call centre,” he said.

Tenants at the 148,640 sq m (1.6m sq ft) Brindleyplace include Abbey National, Unity Trust Bank, Le Petit Blanc and Cafe Radio.

GVA Grimley is office agent for the scheme.
