Gallagher Estates boss Tony Gallagher has been awarded a knighthood in the Queen’s birthday honours.
The list states that he was given the gong “For services to Land Development and the Property Business”.
The brothers Zuber and Mohsin Issa are among those awarded CBEs.
The brothers last week bought Asda from Walmart, in a £6.8bn team-up with TDR Capital.
The co-chair of the British Retail Consortium, Richard Pennycook, was also awarded a CBE.
