ARLA detects hopeful signs in buy-to-let sector

The Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) has logged a glimmer of hope in the buy-to-let market: landlords are buying more properties than they are selling for the first time in two years.

More than double the number of agents reported that landlords were buying properties in the first quarter compared with the previous three months.

Arla attributed the signs of life to bargain-hunting. However, members also reported signs of oversupply in the rental market.
