Arlington to turn former Reading brewery site into warehouses

Developer Arlington has been given approval for a 155,000 sq ft warehouse development on the site of a former brewery close to Reading.

Reading Borough Council has granted planning consent for Reading International Logistics Park, which will comprise four warehouses ranging from 24,150 sq ft to 65,787 sq ft. The site is next to Junction 11 of the M4 motorway. The company expects to bring the scheme forward next year.

George Wilson, development surveyor at Arlington, said: “The location is excellent for logistics operations given the proximity to the motorway junction and, being on the main route in to Reading, making it ideal for last-mile delivery. There’s a shortage of high-quality stock in the Thames Valley.”

The scheme was approved at the council’s most recent planning meeting, held last week.
