Plans for 605 student beds across two schemes close to Arsenal Football Club’s Emirates Stadium have been submitted to Islington council.
Developer Chartgold and Stadium Capital Holdings – a joint venture between Arsenal and Chartgold owner Antony Spencer – want to construct a 212-bed 12-storey block (pictured) at the site of the Metro Bar, 295 Holloway Road, N7.
They are seeking a change of use for the development, which already has planning permission for a 174-bedroom hotel.
Elsewhere in the area, Anthony Green & Spencer and Savills are advising Arsenal’s property division, Ashburton, on amended proposals for 45 Hornsey Road. Ashburton now wants to build a 16-storey 393-bed student block on the site.
