Asda has bought a supermarket site for more than £27m adjacent to East Kilbride’s shopping centre in
South Lanarkshire Council’s executive committee has accepted the supermarket giant’s bid to develop and operate 130,000 sq ft store on the 11-acre Kittoch Field site.
It is proposed that the council-owned site is leased to Asda for 175 years. Asda is now likely to submit a planning application to South Lanarkshire Council.
The development opportunity is understood to have attracted a number of bids from
