ASDA’s Jo Moon promoted to property acquisition director

ASDA has appointed Jo Moon property acquisition director leading stores acquisitions for the supermarket giant.

Jo Moon

Moon was previously head of estates with ASDA, and joined the Wal-Mart subsidiary from Tesco in March 2006, where she was senior development surveyor.

ASDA has 265 stores and 19 depots, and set up its new estates team in July to focus on development opportunities for the surplus land around its stores.

Moon said: “Since joining ASDA I have enjoyed my time leading the estates team.

“I am looking forward to the new challenges ahead and working across the retail development department to bring our retail offer to more communities across the UK.”

Moon’s first major project for the estates team is a 100,000 sq ft headquarters for Barclays bank on ASDA’s land in West Quay Road, Poole.

ASDA, whose property pipeline amounts to more than 1m sq ft, will develop the HQ and then lease it back to Barclays.
