ASDA unveils £100m Barnet plans

ASDA has unveiled plans for a £100m redevelopment of the former Transco site at Albert Road in New Barnet, Hertfordshire.
The six-acre scheme will include a 78,000 sq ft supermarket, 200 homes developed by Linden Homes, community facilities and additional shops.
The majority of the housing will be built above the ASDA store.
The scheme is the second to come forward since EG revealed last July that the Wal-Mart-owned supermarket giant was planning a major drive into property development around its stores (28 July, p23).
