ASDA Walmart is poised to take 234,000 sq ft (21,738 sq m) at Gladman Development’s speculative warehouse unit at Newcastle-under-Lyme’s 25 Lymedale Park.
The quoting rent at the former colliery site is £3.75 per sq ft (£40 per sq m) with the building due for completion in August.
Laura Stapleton, at joint letting agent GVA Grimley, would not confirm the prelet, but confessed that talks with a tenant are at an advanced stage.
Stapleton said: “This was a bold speculative build, but a tenant came into the frame very quickly. It was a big risk for Gladman and it’s nice to have some success delivered to a ballsy move.”
ASDA Walmart will join TK Maxx and TLP Distribution.
Louis Taylor is also letting agent at the development.
