The University of Chicago Booth School of Business has agreed to take 43,000 sq ft on a 15-year lease at AshbyCapital and Helical’s One Bartholomew, EC1.
The university’s new campus facility will cover the ground, first and second floors in the 221,000 sq ft Midtown office block.
Trade Desk, a tech firm, has leased the top four floors (74,210 sq ft) of the 12-storey building, which is part of the three-acre Barts Square development near Smithfield Meat Market. The scheme also includes 236 flats and 10 retail and leisure units.
Richard Johnson, associate dean, executive MBA programme – Europe and Asia at the University of Chicago, said: “The new facility will enable us to expand our current operations and offer our students, faculty and alumni world-class teaching facilities in a vibrant central London location.
“One Bartholomew Square will be the next chapter in the development of our international footprint following the opening of our bespoke facility at Mount Davis in Hong Kong last year.”
Helical and AshbyCapital were advised by Savills, Ingleby Trice and CBRE. Knight Frank represented Chicago Booth.
