Ashfield Land appoints new Birmingham director

Ashfield Land has appointed Robert Birch as lead director in its Birmingham office as it looks to increase its activity in the region.

Birch has 28 years of commercial property experience.

In his new role, he will concentrate on expanding Ashfield Land’s pipeline of development, investment and strategic land activity across the Midlands.

Birch established his own consultancy business in 2004 and has worked for Coltham Developments, Helical Retail, Calthorpe Estates, Miller Developments and Lidl. He was instrumental in the delivery of the £85m Parkgate regeneration scheme in Shirley town centre, near Solihull.

Andrew Fisher, managing director at Ashfield Land, said: “We have resources in place to focus on suitable investment, development and strategic land projects and with Robert now heading up the office, we can cover the Midlands market even more effectively.”

Ashfield Land owns and invests in commercial property across the UK and focuses on development, and investment including retail and leisure, mixed-use regeneration, industrial, distribution and business parks. Current projects include Ionic Park in Dudley and Rail Central, a strategic rail freight interchange and distribution development, as well as a 30 acre mixed-use development scheme at Rushden.
