Mike Ashley is eyeing up the rump of Philip Day’s fallen high street empire.
The Frasers Group is considering deals for Austin Reed, Jaques Vert and Jaeger.
To take control of Jaeger, Ashley will need to fend off competition from Torque Brands, a vehicle led by Simba Sleep co-founder James Cox, and from Harold Tillman, Jaeger’s former owner.
Buyers have been given the option of bidding for the brands together or separately. Best offers are to be submitted in a week or so.
